Motel Guests Robbed By Armed Men In Durham

DURHAM - According to the Durham Police Department, two armed men robbed a couple of their property during a robbery that occurred Monday, March 19th at the Days Inn located at 3460 Hillsborough Road in Durham.
According to police, the vicitms -- a man and his wife -- were getting ready to leave their room around 10:40am when a male suspect walked into the room, pulled out a gun and demanded money. Police also say that a second man entered the room and took cell phones from the victims and both suspects fled with credit cards, cash, prescription medications and four cell phones from the victims.
Durham Police say that the victims' credit cards have been used at several locations in Raleigh and Durham and in one case, the suspect signed the credit card form in the name of "Thomas Smith."
Police say that the suspect who had the gun is described as a black male in his 20's, between 5' 4" to 5' 6" tall with a medium build and a dark complexion. According to an eyetwitness description, the suspect had close-cut hair and a very round face with numerous acne scars and he was wearing blue jeans and a nylon jacket.
Police say that the second suspect is described as a black male in his 20's, 6' to 6' 2" with a dark complexion and a medium build and was wearing blue jeans and a maroon jacket or sweatshirt.
Durham Police are asking that anyone with information about the robbery or the suspects is asked to call Investigator A.B. Laeng at 560-4582, ext. 235 or the CrimeStoppers hotline at 683-1200.
