DURHAM - Road work will be taking place this week on Interstate 40 and also in Cary on the Cary Parkway resulting in lane closures.
The NC Department of Transportation will close one lane in each direction of Interstate 40 in Orange County Wednesday and Thursday nights from 10pm to 6am the following day to install electronic traffic monitoring sensors to generate traffic counts along this route.
Work will take place between mile markers 268 and 271. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction, and motorists should expect delays. As an alternate route, motorists may take N.C. 147, also called Durham Freeway to Interstate 85.
