RALEIGH - The Wake County Library System is announcing the grand reopening of a Raleigh library in the southeast section of the city.

The Library Commission says the expanded Wake County Southgate Branch Library re-opened yesterday at 6pm.

The Southgate Library is located at
1601-14 Cross Link Road in the Southgate Plaza Shopping Center in Raleigh.

The county says that the Southgate Branch has more than doubled in space, from 2,500 sq. ft. to 5,400 sq. ft.

In addition, they have increased the number of computers available, and have added 5,000 new books, bringing its collection to an estimated 26,000 volumes.

The county says the Library was formerly known as the South Raleigh Library and opened in 1973 on Proctor Road.  ::
