DURHAM - According to Durham Police, a local teenager was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with murder in the tragic March 25th shooting death of 14 year old Tavisa Cartnail on Driver Street in Durham.
The teenager arrested was Holly Martez Lyons, age 17, of 1126 Hoover Road in Durham. He was charged with murder and also with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in the shooting of Cartnail's sister in the same incident.

Durham Police say that Lyons was arrested inside an apartment on Keystone Place by Durham police investigators and members of the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.
Details Of Shooting
Durham Police say that the victim, Cartnail, was shot around 11:15pm on March 25th on Driver Street near Taylor Street by the old Holton Middle School.
A sport utility vehicle occupied by five people was traveling north on Driver Street when at least two shots were fired into the vehicle.
The shots entered the vehicle and struck Cartnail in the head and police also say that a bullet also grazed the head of her sister, who was sitting in front of her in the vehicle.
The driver went to Fidelity Drive, where police and EMS were called, but Tavisa Cartnail was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 16 year old sister was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say that the shooting suspect is currently on a one-year probation for possession of stolen goods. He was arrested on April 10th and charged with possession of a firearm by a minor and he was also arrested on March 31st and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and discharging a firearm within city limits in connection with an incident on Glenbrook Drive.
