::Raleigh High Schools In Top 100

RALEIGH -- A ranking of public schools by Newsweek magazine that was released on May 20th listed several Raleigh area high schools in the top 100.
The magazine ranked Raleigh Charter High School as the 18th highest ranking school in the country. Raleigh Charter was started in 1998 and was created under the state's charter school program. The school is located next to Peace College in downtown Raleigh.
Also ranked in the top 100 was William G. Enloe High Schoolin Raleigh, coming in at number 53.
Other schools in North Carolina that were in the top 100 included Myers Park School in Charlotte, Harding University School in Charlotte, and Western Guilford High School in Greensboro.
The ranking was based on the number of advanced placement, International Baccalaureate, or Cambridge tests taken by all students at the school divided by the number of graduating seniors.
The magazine said that the NC School of Science and Mathmatics in Durham was excluded from the rankings because so many students took advanced tests. ::
