CARY - Triangle-area American Idol fans will be disappointed to hear that recent American Idol winner Taylor Hicks will not be appearing in Cary.
Taylor Hicks, winner of the fifth season of American Idol, has cancelled his Thursday June 28th appearance at Cary's Koka Booth Amphitheatre.
The City of Cary, which runs the venue, did not give much of an explanation for the cancellation.
"Taylor Hicks show scheduled for Thursday, June 28 at Booth Amphitheatre has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts," said the city in a press statement. "The show will not be rescheduled."
According to Cary, those who purchased tickets will receive a full refund from where they purchased their tickets.
However, Raleigh's native son Clay Aiken will still be performing at the Booth Amphitheatre on Friday August 10th at 8:30pm.
The tickets for that show are already on sale, according to the city of Cary.
Aiken is also hosting a charity auction for two premium tickets and the chance to meet him for a "meet and greet" after the show.
The auction proceeds will benefit the Bubel-Aiken Foundation which helps children with learning disabilities.
Tickets can also be purchased at any
