::Man Shot While Driving In Raleigh

RALEIGH - According to the Raleigh Police Department, shortly after 2:30am on Sunday morning, at the scene of a one car accident a man was found injured and later died because he had apparently been shot in his car.
Police say that officers responded to a wreck call in the city on Glascock Street near Brighton Road.
"Upon arrival, the officers discovered that the driver of the vehicle, which had struck a utility pole, had been shot," said Raleigh Police spokesman Jim Sughrue in a statement to the media.
Police say the driver from Raleigh, Damarkos Eugene-Alan Thorpe, age 20, was taken to WakeMed Hospital where he later died from his wounds.
According to police, the victim was alone in the vehicle when officers arrived on the scene of the wreck.
Police are still looking for clues and Sughrue said that an investigation of the case by the department's Major Crimes Task Force is still underway.
