CARY - According to Cary Police, a woman was shot and robbed today while at an ATM machine in town. The Town of Cary Police Department is asking for help in locating two men involved in the shooting as they are still at large.
Cary Police say that two men were involved -- one black male and one white male getaway driver.
Police say that at around 12:30pm, a tall thin black male thought to be in his early 30's in age with a short beard and wearing black pants and a black shirt robbed and shot a 51-year old Cary woman who was at the Bank of America ATM machine located at 801 SE Maynard Road in Cary.
Cary Police Lieutenant Chris Hoina said that the woman's purse was taken during the robbery.
Police say that the shooting suspect then ran across Maynard Road to Cary Towne Center mall where he jumped into a red or burgundy sedan with New York license plates being driven by a white male. The two men fled from there, say police.
While the police department did not release the condition of the woman, they did say that she was alive at the scene and was taken to the WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.
The vicitm's name was not released, pending notification of her family.
