RALEIGH - This evening, NC State University Women's Basketball Coach Kay Yow will be featured on a special TV show that is being jointly broadcast by College Sports TV (CSTV) and Time Warner Cable on Monday night.
The special "One2One" 30 minute show debuts tonight and featuring an exclusive interview with Coach Yow. CSTV's Debbie Antonelli, who played for Yow at NC State, is conducting the interview, which Time Warner Cable says covers the coach's faith, basketball career and battles with cancer.
The program airs Monday night June 25th at 8pm on Time Warner Cable's Digital Channel 327.
The show is part of CSTV's weeklong salute to women's sports and this month marks the 35th anniversary of Title IX, which granted equal access to women in college sports.
"No one typifies the spirit, passion and dedication to the sport of basketball more than Coach Yow," said TimeWarner Cable in a media statement. "While going through many challenges herself, she boldly led her team to the Sweet 16, beating formidable opponents along the way."
Producers of the show say there was a special screening this afternoon on NC State's campus, CSTV executives and university officials watched a preview of the program with Coach Yow and more than 200 campers participating in the Kay Yow Basketball Camp.
Time Warner Cable and CSTV also presented Coach Yow with a $1,000 donation for her charity, Hoops for Hope. TWC says it is also a $20,000 sponsor of Hoops for Hope and is also a title sponsor at the annual Hoops for Hope event. ::
